Volunteer Board role
We are looking to fill some future Australian Shareholders’ Association Board vacancies and are calling for nominations for our Board of Directors. The role requires around 10 days a year of Board time, and in addition you should be willing to participate in and understand the key activities of the Association throughout the year. Directors are elected for 3-year terms, by our members at the AGM.
Applicants must have at least one of these Essential skills:
- Human Resource Management.
- Strategy Development and Execution.
- Marketing and Brand Oversight.
- Communications and Corporate Messaging
Desirably, an applicant would also possess a good proportion of the following experience/skills:
- Active Member of the ASA.
- Contemporary Corporate Governance.
- General Business Acumen and Leadership.
- Have worked in an ASX-Listed Company and/or a Not For Profit organisation.
- Have Leadership experience in a Member organisation.
- Mergers and Acquisitions.
- Information Technology.
- Finance and Accounting expertise with CPA or CA qualification.
- Risk and Compliance Management.
Board members are expected to act ethically and embody the ASA values of Integrity, Courage (to challenge and explore), as well as showing Respect and Support for all our stakeholders. In addition, it is important that you can work collaboratively with the Board and our Team, exercise sound judgement and appropriate oversight, and have a genuine interest in ASA and its purpose.
