Taper-less Tantrum

Wednesday, 12 May 2021  |  12:00pm - 1:00pm AEST Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney

In Q1 we witnessed the sell-off in global developed market rate curves on the improving prospects of a return to normalcy driven by fiscal stimulus, inflation fears and a successful vaccine rollout, particularly in the US and UK. Markets subsequently tested the resolve of the FED in allowing this back-up in rates but the FED remained resolute. In light of this, we need to consider: what are the implications for rates in Q2 and will sustained inflation prevail? What level of rates will cause risk assets to falter? Join Matthew Holberton from ActiveX for a recap on listed fixed income products and Daniel Siluk, portfolio manager of the ActiveX Kapstream Absolute Return Income Fund (Managed Fund), ticker: XKAP, to discuss his views on the above, provide a performance update and answer all of your questions.
