ASA comes to Devonport
With no meeting discussion groups in Tasmania, ASA Director Betty Clarke-Wood felt that our southern members were being neglected. With that in mind, she has ventured south from her home in Ballarat on a mission to form some new ASA groups in Tasmania. On 15 November Betty invited local Devonport members to a Coffee Discussion Group at the Devonport RSL.
Betty plans to visit Burnie, Launceston and Hobart. Well done Betty, great job!
Our Bathurst Group met for the second time on 11 November in an Oberon cafe. It's a newly formed group and ASA stalwarts, John Cowling and Doug Gannon travelled from Sydney to lend a hand.
Corporate Conduct & Class Actions Symposium
ASA members attended the Maurice Blackburn Lawyers Corporate Conduct & Class Actions Symposium in Sydney on 9 November. Our Albury-Wodonga group met on 25 October at the Commercial Hotel in Albury to hear a presentation from guest speaker, John Cowling. John travelled from Sydney to present "Bucket Investing" to the large group. Very attended meeting and excellent presentation. Thanks John!
ASA members from Bendigo and surrounding areas attended a lunch held on 13 October at Bendigo RSL.
There was an excellent turn out to hear special guest speaker, John Cowling, present "Bucket Investing". A great presentation and good lunch - attendees all enjoyed the afternoon, learning and socialising.
A presentation was made to Gerald Davis, who was one of the three Victorian State Committee members who was responsible for setting up six regional groups in 2002. Flowers were also presented to Gerald's wife, Margaret, for her support of Gerald's work for the ASA over many years. Thank you Gerald and Margaret!
