Managed investments range from managed funds to products like Exchange traded funds (ETFs) and Listed investment companies (LICs).

Managed funds are not traded on the stock market and you have to buy 'units' in the managed fund from the fund manager. They invest the pooled money in the stock market although there are huge range of managed funds and many have a specific investment niche.

Exchange traded funds are listed on the stock exchange and can be bought and sold like any share.  They usually invest in a basket of shares to mimic a particular index.

Listed investment companies are also listed on the stock exhange and they usually invest in a range of other companies so with one purchase you can immediately diversify your investments.
