The Annual Report and financial statements within provide so much data. This workshop will show you how to interpret the data in Annual Reports to help you with your investment decisions.

Annual Report extracts from two companies and case studies will be used.

You will leave this workshop with a much greater confidence in assessing a company's financial statements to help you make better investment decisions.

 

Speakers

Nicole Duncan, Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary at South32

Nicole became Chief Legal Officer of South32 in December 2014 and was appointed Company Secretary in January 2015. She is accountable for the Company Secretariat and Legal and Compliance functions, as well as the Corporate IT and IT Projects teams. Before joining South32, Nicole held senior roles in BHP Billiton. Prior to this she held various legal roles within BHP Billiton in Australia, Houston and The Hague, and she was a lawyer at Ashurst. 

Aaron Ross-Connolly, Investment Manager at Patersons Securities

Aaron has been an investment manager/stockbroker for over 15 years and has extensive experience in financial planning, stock broking and funds management. Aaron completed the FINSIA Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment and is now the Chairman and a Director of RM Black Morgan Management Pty Ltd. He works as a Private Client Advisor with a particular focus on strategic planning, SMSF’s and direct equities. In this role he is responsible for up to 600 client accounts and manages over $100 million in private client funds

Geoff Sherwin, Chartered Accountant & Company Director

Geoff was a senior partner with RSM Bird Cameron, a national accounting firm, until 1995, before completing an education degree and embarking on a portfolio of work, including training and development, company directorships and accounting services. Geoff has delivered financial analysis training programs for the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Securities Institute of Australia (now Financial Services Institute of Australasia) and has led the monitor training programme in WA for the past four years. Geoff joined the ASA in 2007 and served on the national board until May 2014.
