The Annual Report and financial statements within provide so much data. This workshop will show you how to interpret the data in Annual Reports to help you with your investment decisions.
Annual Report extracts from two companies and case studies will be used.
You will leave this workshop with a much greater confidence in assessing a company's financial statements to help you make better investment decisions.

Peter Rae, ASA Victorian Education Officer
Peter Rae has 36 years’ experience in the banking and finance industry, including 17 years as an equities analyst. He is currently a supervisory analyst at Independent Investment Research covering listed managed investments. Peter was previously a sector head in the equities research team at Morningstar with a focus on consumer and industrial companies. Peter joined Aegis Equities Research, subsequently acquired by Morningstar, in 1999. At Aegis, he held a number of positions including Team Leader, Financial Services and Head of Equities.
Carmen Ridley, Principal of Australian Financial Reporting Solutions
Carmen has been in auditing and accounting roles for over 20 years and worked in the Technical Department of a Big 4 firm prior to running the technical auditing and accounting divisions of a couple of mid-tier firms. Carmen ensures that she keeps up-to-date and aware of current accounting and auditing issues and has established herself as a recognized expert in the Financial Reporting Arenas. Carmen is a Board member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board.
Mike Sewell, Director of Market Gap Investments
Mike’s early career in banking and finance developed a good understanding of traditional funding models, and his more recent roles have provided a strong understanding of the importance of cash flow in current and evolving methods of funding businesses, start-ups and community based organisations. Mike will provide his insight into the fundamentals of cash flow statements and how he applies practical knowledge to understand information in reported cash flow statements.
Lunch, along with morning and afternoon teas are included.
There will be some handouts provided on the day.
Parliament train station is approximately 600m walk from the venue. When exiting the station, head north on Spring St towards Bourke St. Take a slight left on Spring St, and turn left onto Lonsdale St. Turn right onto Exhibition St and the venue will be on your right.
Refunds and cancellations
A full refund will be provided for all cancellations one week prior to the seminar. No refunds will be made within one week of the seminar. We are happy to accept a substiution within one day of the seminar.
