The conference

The conference will be held over two days from Monday 15 May to Tuesday 15 May 2016. A range of optional extra activities have been organised for Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 May.

Partners of members can attend all conference activities on the same basis as a member. Please note accommodation is not included in the conference registration fee.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR NON-MEMBERS: We are offering conference registration and membership for a discounted rate. Non-members can register and just pay an additional $90 for a green membership (usually $120) or $125 for a classic membership (usually $140). However, to access this special rate you must register for the conference and join the ASA at the same time. Grand Hyatt Melbourne is located prestigiously on Collins Street, the heart of the city’s high fashion and fine dining areas, and within walking distance of many of Melbourne’s tourist attractions and business, shopping and theatre districts. The Hotel is within walking distance of the Princess Theatre, Federation Square and Southgate shopping precinct.

The conference facilities are located on level 8 of the Hotel. Delegates will be treated to a seated buffet lunch daily.

Transport

Taxi
The Grand Hyatt is approximately 23 km from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. Taxis to and from the airport take approximately 30-35 minutes and cost between $50.00-$60.00 AUD each way.

Train
The closest train stations are Flinders Street Station (500m from the Hotel) or Spencer Street station (2km from the hotel).
 
Skybus Super Shuttle
Skybus is an airport transfer coach that operates 7 days a week, including public holidays. On average it takes 25 minutes between the airport and the Southern Cross Terminal. Skybus departs every 10-15 minutes between 6:00AM and 9:30PM and half hourly or hourly at other times.

Arriving at Melbourne Airport:
You do not need to book the Skybus Hotel Shuttle to get to your hotel.
From Melbourne Airport, take the Skybus Super Shuttle to the Melbourne city terminal at Southern Cross Station (in Spencer Street). Then, transfer onto a Skybus Hotel Shuttle mini-bus, which delivers you to the Grand Hyatt Melbourne. No booking is required and the mini-buses are available during operating hours.
Skybus Super Shuttle operates from two locations at Melbourne Airport, right outside arrivals at:

  • Terminal T1, serving Qantas Domestic, QantasLink and Jetstar Domestic
  • Terminal T3, serving Virgin Domestic, Rex, and all International flights.

The car park located beneath the Hotel is privately operated by Wilson Parking.
