Canberra - Investing in volatile times - 12 November

How investment managers can give you peace of mind in the current economic climate.

Investors face an uncertain future with the global economic climate: the trade wars are likely to continue, interest rates are heading lower, markets are becoming more volatile and a downturn in the global economy is looming.

What should investors do in this climate? How can you maintain your capital? How do you generate income in a low-interest environment? Where are the safe-havens if the market turns downward. What are the current risks with investing in equity markets around the world? How do you minimise investment risks by diversifying your portfolio? What does a conservative portfolio look like?

How can investment managers help you answer these questions? What are the reasons for using an investment manager? How do you select one? What advantages are there for investing your money in managed funds and ETFs? What classes of funds should you consider in the current economic climate?

This seminar will help you develop strategies and plans for investing in the current climate. ASA will feature leading investment managers that have funds targeted across the geographic spectrum, asset classes, industry sectors and market indices. The managers will outline their view of the economic climate and highlight a few of their products that investors might consider in this climate. You will have the opportunity to interact with them during the day.
